Accelerated progress
Thanks to our spaced repetition algorithm, you can memorize hundreds of words effortlessly.
Success in language learning is determined from the very start: a poorly assimilated concept can quickly become an obstacle. This is why we created the Super Memory method, which strengthens this key moment through a funnel-shaped learning loop to consolidate memory in an exceptional way.

Loecsen is a rigorously structured learning method for beginners. By focusing on practical and motivating real-life situations, it enables learners to effectively reach the skills expected at the A1 level of the CEFR (First Contact course) and the A2–B1 levels (Autonomous in 6 Months course).
Grammar is present at every step, but always explained through real usage. It is never presented as abstract rules: sentences are broken down, vocabulary is placed in context, and each expression is enriched with cultural insights, helping learners understand how the language actually works.
The method also relies on the best current technologies to enhance learning, including speech recognition.
The goal is not to memorize isolated words, but to understand, pronounce, and reuse the language over the long term. This approach ensures a logical progression toward real, practical autonomy, even when starting from scratch.
This realistic and practical approach is why, for many users, Loecsen is considered one of the most accessible and effective methods for starting a new language with confidence.
Here are the most frequently asked questions about Loecsen
No. Loecsen deliberately selects vocabulary rooted in travel and everyday life situations
(introducing yourself, asking questions, understanding, reacting), because this is the clearest and most motivating goal at the beginning. This vocabulary corresponds precisely to the skills expected at the A1 level (CEFR).
This choice is not limiting: it enables a structured progression, with complete sentences, a clear thematic logic, and a rapid increase in learner autonomy.
The Loecsen method is based on the levels defined by the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages),
which is the official reference framework for assessing language skills in Europe and internationally.
First Contact (A1 – CEFR)
First Contact corresponds to the A1 level of the CEFR.
At this level, learners are able to understand and use familiar expressions and very simple sentences,
introduce themselves, ask and answer questions about basic needs, and interact in a simple way
as long as the other person speaks slowly and clearly.
The objective of the First Contact course is to acquire the fundamental skills required for initial functional autonomy.
Autonomous in 6 Months (solid A2, with B1-level skills)
Autonomous in 6 Months aims for a solid A2 level, with skills that fall within the B1 range.
At this stage, learners can understand isolated sentences and frequently used expressions, communicate in everyday situations,
describe experiences, express simple opinions, and use the main grammatical structures of the language.
The objective of this course is to enable real autonomy in a variety of everyday contexts.
This program is currently available in only a few languages. The goal is to make it available in all languages on the site as soon as possible.
Yes. Grammar is present at every stage, but in a contextualized form.
It is not isolated into abstract rules: instead, it is introduced when it becomes useful,
based on the words and sentences being studied.
Depending on the content, Loecsen offers grammar guides, usage explanations, cultural notes,
and word-by-word breakdowns to help learners understand how the language works,
not just what to repeat.
Yes. Loecsen is a complete learning method, specifically designed to prevent beginner dropout. It combines a structured learning path with advanced memory-building mechanisms.
The method includes spaced repetition, multiple exposure, audio practice (including screen-free learning), speech recognition, visual supports, and progressive gamification. The goal is not to accumulate words, but to understand, pronounce, and reuse the language in a lasting way.
What often surprises learners is the method’s apparent simplicity. In reality, this simplicity is intentional and is based on an advanced pedagogical design that draws on both insights from cognitive science and the most advanced web technologies. Learners are immediately immersed in living language and make progress without feeling the need to apply conscious effort. True to its method, Loecsen thus helps shape language learning into an approach that is more natural and more positive for the mind.
Yes. The Loecsen method is designed as a structured progression based on CEFR levels.
Once courses allowing learners to reach a A2–B1 level are available across all the languages offered,
Loecsen will progressively develop more advanced programs, with the goal of reaching B2 and then C1 levels.
This evolution is driven by very positive learning feedback regarding the effectiveness of our pedagogical approach.
As with all Loecsen programs, the development of these advanced levels will be carried out gradually,
with particular attention paid to pedagogical quality, content coherence, and their real usefulness for learners.
The core is free (access to many languages and essential topics). Paid options can enhance the experience (extended content, advanced features).
By working 15–30 minutes a day, many users get comfortable with the basics in just a few weeks and reach solid conversational autonomy within a few months. The pace depends on your consistency.
Our approach is inspired by the natural process through which a child acquires their mother tongue, but adapted to the needs of adults. No isolated vocabulary lists to memorize or abstract grammar rules: you start directly with useful sentences, rooted in everyday situations. This concrete context makes memorization easier and helps you speak quickly in a natural and spontaneous way.
More than 50 languages, including English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese (Portugal), Catalan, Moroccan Arabic (Darija), Japanese, Korean, Thai, and many more. The next languages to come include: Sinhala, Tamil, Swahili, Amharic, Kinyarwanda, Filipino, Slovenian, Hausa, Irish, isiZulu, Yoruba, Kabyle, Punjabi.
Loecsen focuses on useful phrases from day one and on their immediate practical use. The approach is simple, clear, and directly focused on spoken expression. The main objective is to achieve concrete results that learners can use quickly.
By contrast, most other methods — even those with a playful appearance — still rely on a linear progression largely inspired by traditional school textbooks.
Loecsen also stands out through a very careful content selection process. Every word and every sentence is chosen according to two essential criteria: pedagogical relevance and the ability to express a positive and friendly mindset. For us, it is essential that our content reflects our core values: honesty, kindness, and openness.
Yes. We know that spending too much time in front of a screen is not ideal. That’s why we provide downloadable audio files and printable sheets. This way, you can practice wherever you want, without an Internet connection, and vary your learning methods.
We do not issue an official certificate (such as TOEIC/DELE). However, we do provide a course completion certificate, which is accepted by the institutions that recommend us.
Yes. You can switch between languages without losing your progress. Tip: focus on 1–2 languages at the beginning to make faster progress.
No worries, your progress is fully synchronized across your devices!
The speech recognition feature used by Loecsen is based on a technology called the Web Speech Recognition API. Unfortunately, Apple does not yet allow this technology to work on iOS (iPhone or iPad), whether with Safari or Chrome. You can use this feature on a computer (with Google Chrome) or on an Android device. On iPhone and iPad, all the other course content remains fully available.
